Beat Up Fingers

December Words

Focus.
The hurt is only in this moment.
Head hovering high, smile through it.
Their patronising assumptions and sleazy stares.
Cycle between the poisonous air.
The demands and half pennies will only compare.
A few down the line and you will be there.
Snap snap, tap tap, beep beep.
Take the pictures, bang the drums and work for cheap.

An overweight woman burst your pinkie.
Blood on the metal, swift plaster, continue smiling, itchy.
Time ticks by, for one good riddance, for another piddled feart.
No one gets younger and every day death is near.
The nicest kindest folks feel trapped in their existence.
Any signs of escape are too few specks in the distance.
Winter's darkness lurks the many below the laws.
Fights with heavy cardboard slicing your paws.

Eyes an brain wide and us in the middle.
Hold on for life and we might handle the riddle.
Save those pennies for a seat, a glass lens and a key.
A key to a home we could share and feel free.
Forget this moment in thirteen.

Think about what you want to do.
Focus.

November Days...

A recent picture from my wee world...

November...
Hello December!  I don't really have any pictures to share from my November!  Or too many words!  But here is a lighting test of yours truly I found on my camera, it was either this or a picture of potatoes!  I wanted to post a little something, I have been shooting more clients but I can't share those with the world yet.  I guess I have just been working loads to be able to buy more photography kit and Mark has been studying loads for his exams in December.  I have really been enjoying working at an after school art club with two wonderful women, both so inspiring and the primary school bairns are just too sweet, also so inspiring.  I am feeling tired with DOMS from the gym and working too much but I feel happy and positive about the new year ahead!  Hopefully I will have something more special to share in my next post!  Have a braw December \^.^/

The moon and the circus...

Some recent pictures from our wee world...

October Words

I have been getting more photography clients and so I am having to downsize a few things in my life, as time has become even more limited!  I am holding a sale in my wee shop until the last day of the year, the 31st of December 2013 when I will close my Circus Girl Vintage shop doors.  I will of course keep my blog running to do my monthly summaries of life in pictures and words and update you on my progress with photography. It is just what with now working freelance, working at an after school art club and maintaining my gym routine I need more time to work on my art photography projects!  I do enjoy having my wee shop and I love to sew kittens =^..^=  So it is a wee shame but it is also progress...

Circus Girl Vintage Shop News

With the death of the seasons, halloween and fireworks night around the corner this update offers some tricks and treats!

As a treat I am holding an end of the year sale which starts now and ends on the last day of the year, the 31st of December 2013.  It will include all items in my shop and is basically a reduction making everything range from 13p to £6.66!

In the tricks bag is a shooting star cat toy stuffed with organic cat nip, a few organic lavender stuffed moons and stars, and a special new Miss Kitty Lavender doll stuffed with organic lavender, this/these circus girl(s) are conjoined twins.  I am also over the start of November going to be adding lots of vintage clothes, sewing goods and accessories like these sweet vintage Japanese circus elephant charms and a genuine vintage circus coat.

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful colours outside and welcome winter as November knocks...

Until next time

Miss you July...

Some recent pictures from our wee world...

July Words
Here Comes August...
Putting down the heavy and up again.
Building things higher and start it when.
Days are filled with fire and energy is everywhere.
Accumulated pain driving passion nae disdain.
Nae slave labour but just a scrape past that frame.
Between the eyes, head up high, remembering.
Moments taken, used with love, bees and him.
Sat on the sand with the cat and birds, the soft tidal pace.
Escape.
Back to the grind, one day a home will be mine.
Picking up the heavy and gently down another time.

Shop Update; The Birds and The Bees...

Some recent uploads to my wee shop, Circus Girl Vintage...

Glass Glitter and hand painted brooches...

These hand made clay bird brooches are coated in varnish and glass glitter. Not to be played with by wee ones as glass glitter tends to shed over time! The bee brooches are hand painted and are my favourite accessory to wear!

Organic Lavender Bees...

These organic lavender stuffed bees are made from black velvet and are hand sequinned in gold and dark brown / almost black.  A sweet wee friend to have in your knicker drawer or put her in with your clothes when you pack your suitcase if you are going away on holiday, keep those pretty clothes smelling braw!

Organic Catnip and Organic Lavender stuffed Birds...

After searching high and low I found some organic catnip to make some birds for the cats!  Our cats love string so some of them have string tails to make them even better toys!  I made some Organic lavender stuffed birds too for us humans!  I love these wee birds and adore the vintage fabrics used!

Miss Kitty Lavender and Master Lavender Magic Organic Lavender stuffed kittens...

The circus kittens are hand stitched, embroidered and sequinned with every detail of their outfits sewn with love and care.  I used vintage materials like pretty fabrics, pearls and beads.  A real treat to make your wardrobe, chest of drawers, suitcase or pillows smelling beautiful!  A wee gift for that crazy cat person in your life?!  Perhaps that person, like me, is you!

Vintage and Antique Photography Goods...

I will be adding some Vintage and Antique photography goods like more Victorian cabinet cards, pretty floral and detailed frames and cameras...  Over the years loving history and photography I have collected quite a few things!  So far I have uploaded the frame, next week I will add the pictures!

Vintage and Antique Homewares...

From Vintage to Antiques, Iv'e boxes of beautiful old treats. Lace place mats from Mexico to hand embroidered floral tablecloths or a sweet bee honey jar, I will be adding more and more over the summer, when I get a way of photographing these beautiful tablecloths!

Floral Hair crowns...

Floral hair crowns are my favourite thing to make and wear just now.  I used vintage ribbons and gold sparkly wave ribbons to hide and protect you from the wire the flowers are wound together with.  Perfect for those lovely summer days and evenings...

Vintage and Antique Sewing Treats...

What with spending more of my time focusing on fitness and my photography I am putting a lot of fabrics, buttons and other sewing treats up for other folk to make pretty things with. From Liberty prints to gorgeous detailed buttons these things are too pretty to be in storage!  I will be adding much more next week, so many pretty buttons to measure!

Liberty Print Skirts

I love a good full skirt and I am a sucker for Vintage Liberty prints! Iv'e made an XS-S skirt and a M-L skirt for the shop and a few either to upload later or to sell at a Vintage fair in August! (More details of that to follow!) They have elastic waists and pockets to make them really useful and easy to fit.

For a sneak at all the items I have put up online visit my etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/CircusGirlVintage

In-between The Steam

June Words
My love graduated college with three awards, one of which was for highest mark in the graded unit where he did a nutritional study on protein and another was for best practical.  I can testify to his braw workmanship as can his other clients!  He has also completed his Reps level 3 certificate in personal training and he is looking for more clients.  So if you are in Midlothian, Scotland and need a personal trainer, get in touch!  We have been going to the gym and using their hydro a lot and we've been working away at setting up our businesses!  I am excited to photograph some lovely folk in July and continue with my photography projects, our work outs and hopefully get another day of sunshine to spend some quality time with friends and family at the beach!  I am still waiting for a phone call from my soon to be two-days-a-week-funding-for-setting-up-my-business-job... Every time I contact them I just get a 'soon'...

In-between The Steam
Sunspell, beach, twenty minutes.
Lifting, resisting, muscle stingers.
Steam, opening, freezing showers.
Walking, dogs, location scouters.
Waiting, counting, phone ringing.
Chopping, munching, repairing cells.
Birds, Bees, inspiring flowers.
Stuffing, catnip, lavender organics.
Stitching, sequins, dapper kittens.

Stealing Blossom's Soul...

Some recent pictures from our wee world...

May Words
Above are some of my favourite recent digital and film pictures, wee snippits of what I have been photographing to get practice with my plate camera.  I have several projects on the go, involving the moon, bees and Scotland so it has been good to get some practice plates done in preparation to doing the real ones.  Mark has eluded my camera this past month, busy with his college work, the blossom and spring flowers have been perfect muses though and I am so happy to see some bees, better late than never...

I am writing a business plan to see about starting up a wee local portrait business offering my skills of photography and alternative processes.  Mark is wanting to set up his fitness classes and personal training business as soon as he finishes college and is fully qualified, mid June!  So May has been full of research and note taking, hopefully it will amount to something!  I want to be able to work on my fine art photography projects and hopefully this will gain me money and experience in applying for extra funding when those times come with those projects!  So if you are in Midlothian or Edinburgh and the lothian lands, Scotland and need a personal trainer or photographer watch this space! ;)

I haven't been doing much sewing lately because of all the photography but I will hopefully get a wee shop update in July after finishing off what I started sewing hopefully in June's spare moments!  That is the plan anyway, I will turn 28, hopefully get a wee birthday trip to the beach, be practicing my photography, working out and sewing and most importantly hopefully having lovely sunshine moments with my love...

I hope these pictures and words find you well, enjoy the wee sunshine spells amongst the drizzle!

Here's to June 2013, geez us a gid yin sunshine!
