ZZZZZ

Regina, from ZZZZZ, The Outer Limits Series 1 Episode 18, 1964.
If you have not seen the original 1960's tv show The Outer Limits, I suggest you give it some of your time!  :)  I especially loved the episode ZZZZZ, I wonder why!?  :)  If you follow my blog and have done for a while then you know I have been enjoying studying Bee Keeping at a local college.  I chose to study beekeeping because I have a love and interest of bees and more generally, the environment and our planet's health. :)  I wanted to know if there was anything I could do in my lifetime that would help not only the bees but the planet too.  I adore so many flowers and pollination is important!  So many reasons to love bees!

The college grounds are incredible!  So many amazing things about this place, I could go on and on but hopefully you enjoyed my pictures and all you really need to know is, I adore bees and the hives are buzzing!  I'm gutted it's over but it's helped me in particular ways that make me happier! Also when we are on our walks now I scream 'BEES!' when passing particular fields of flowers like the rapeseed above and rush into them madly to start hunting for them with my camera :)  So now I'd pretty much consider myself a crazy cat and bee lady lass, and that's just braw.

What else did May 2012 treat me with?  Tasty watermelons for breakfast :) Yummy greens, salads and fruit snacks like carob smoothies and chunks of pineapple :) mmmm..... Embroidery skills increasing, sewing in general skills increasing, (this dress was a floor length and wrist length number from the 70's) :)  Short hair cut :) and eventually days after days of sunshine for a whole week more or less so I got to go for a few walks and witness all the green and floral landscapes!! :)

Hope the sun is shining for you!

Toffee Strawberries and Mint Choc Chip

Some recent pictures from our wee world... (click to enlarge in gallery view!)

Saturday A pitter patter at the window!  Where are you spring sunshine?  It has been bright but so wet, the clouds are like a giant soft box overhead!  A special envelope all the way from my far away good friend in New Zealand arrived for us!  A perfect start to our dreary weather morning which we spent indoors listening to records, playing geetar and uke and of course taking pictures of these yummy desserts we had made and frozen the day before!  Which did have a sunshine spell, one long enough to walk through blossom trees to fetch some more strawberries! ;) yummy dearest sweetest strawberries... mmm...  Our evening ended at Mark's oldest friend's lovely home, after spending a lovely night with the newly weds, their wee kitties and seeing their amazing pictures of Thailand :)

Our Raw Vegan Ice Cream Dessert Adventures

This is something we have been enjoying lately!  It's great to freeze bananas to use as icecream and in frozen whipped moose desserts!  We have been experimenting with different recipe ideas and wanted to make our favourite ice cream, mint choc chip!  The other one pictured is a strawberry dessert which I wanted to make with chunks of dates as dates taste like toffee when you keep them in the fridge!  Because we are still experimenting I will list the ingredients we used but not the quantities because each time we make it they vary!  Each way delicious though, so if you fancy blending, mixing, freezing and garnishing with these ingredients, I think you might have a yummy time! :)
