Feeling Pretty Despite Those Spring Sneezes!

Some Vintage Handkerchiefs from my wee shop...

I have uploaded a small collection of Vintage Handkerchiefs to my new Etsy shop.  I LOVE vintage handkerchiefs.  These have been sitting in storage as I only use about three myself, each one getting washed while I use the other kinda thing... I really hate using paper tissues, It makes me feel so wasteful!  Plus, they have the sweetest embroidery on them \^.^/ x

How exciting! Having recently moved to America i'm still finding my feet but I truly loved Chicago. If your looking for something woody, mountainous and log cabins then from what i've seen of Pennsylvania then that could be your state to visit too, I think that's where we're heading back next too.

I live in America all my life and only been outside of California once when I went to Las Vegas. To tell you the truth, I never even been to Hollywood and that is only 2 hours away... your honey moon sounds terrific given you guys love to travel. I love those handkerchiefs, btw.

Ah, sounds like you have oodles to look forward to! I've never been past Texas to the western side of the States, but I know there's so many great places out that way. I'm in Pennsylvania (near the Pocanos) and actually live on a base of a mountain...so there are plenty of beautiful woods and trails, and watersides to hike and explore. Also cool because we are right in between NYC and Philly so a drive to the city is never that far. It's definitely an underrated State:) Outside PA, Hilton Head Island, SC is one of my favorite places to relax...so peaceful and only about 30 min. away from Savannah, GA which is the most charming city I've been too...so much history there! Very best wishes with your planning darling gal and congrats!!!

Most definitely swooning over those handkerchiefs!!

Yay wedding, travel, oh my!! I've been to all the places you have except Maine (I told Alex yesterday I'd love to visit Maine and Oregon). I'd recommend San Francisco, and driving through Amish country for the old fashioned villages, as well as "big sky" Wyoming cowboy country :) So excited for you both! xxx

Zoe, the handkerchiefs are adorable. I used to use hankies when I was a little girl in private school. And I remember how much I loved shopping for different ones whenever I got some pocket money. I'm definitely checking your shop out! And how exciting about the trip!!! I am not so sure what to recommend to you since it really all depends what you plan on doing :) I lived in Alaska for 8+ years, and it's gorgeous in the summer.

Oh, it's so exciting to hear you're going to the States for your honeymoon! I'm planning a nice long road trip this summer, so I've been doing a bit of research myself...

From previous experience: Washington state is gorgeous--lots of green pine trees and fresh air and cool summers; Seattle is a fun city and not too hard to get around if you've never been. There's lots of nature to explore in that area! ... San Francisco is a must if you're going to CA. Gorgeous city with so much to see & do! If you can catch a show at the Fillmore I'd highly recommend it--they have photos of all the famous musicians they've had over the years (including Miles Davis & Otis Redding!)--then there's lots of beach and great food...

For my road trip: I've been really excited about traveling through Arizona and New Mexico. I want to see the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley (which is just over the Utah border and looks breathtaking). Really just the idea of driving through the desert on Route 66 like some kind of outlaw makes me giddy, hah! In NM I want to see Roswell & the alien crash site and all the crazy stuff there (they have a McDonald's shaped like a UFO!!), then in Texas it's The Alamo & Austin & hopefully a pay phone so I can re-enact a scene from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure ('the stars at night...')! Then New Orleans so I can eat all the beignets at Cafe du Monde; Nashville for BBQ & country music history; Memphis for Sun Records & Graceland; Denver for the Rockies; South Dakota for Mt. Rushmore and Deadwood...ah!

Sorry this comment is a ridiculously long! Obviously I had something to say on the topic, haha! Well, once I actually go on this trip, I can give you better advice on what's worth seeing (and I'm planning on blogging about it anyway)! There is a blog post I'd recommend that has some gorgeous photos of both the east & west coast: http://whatkatieate.blogspot.com/2011/06/wka-ireland-usa-vacation-2011.html

Good luck raking in all the dough! xx

Oh my! You are wonderful! You mentioned lots of places we have on our list! Thank you! I had also not thought of Roswell! I used to watch that tv show, and always thought about visiting there! We love alien thungs so that will be on our list now! Exciting! Haha, The outlaw thing is pretty exciting huh :) I am excited for you and your trip and cant wait to pick your brain further and see all your adventures! :) It's going to take a lot of earning and saving but it'l be worth it! :) xxx
